*MAYOR'S YOUTH COUNCIL: ATTENTION SENIORS!!!*
The Mayor's Youth Council is proud to offer three (3) $1,000 non-renewable scholarships to seniors in Nashville public and private schools. The scholarship contest is an essay: "What would you do if you could walk in the shoes of the Mayor of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County?" There is also a creative option: Design a promotional flyer, by hand or electronically, of an event you would do as Mayor and write a brief synopsis of the event. THE ESSAYS ARE DUE BY THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH!!! Contact Hume-Fogg Mayor's Youth Council representatives, senior Kara Stockdale or junior Jacob Wheeler, for more information and a scholarship application.

THEATER FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
If you're looking for something to do this weekend, bring the family to see the "Dragon Tales" dance theater production on Sunday, March 10, at the Ingram Hall, Blair School of Music. They tell Chinese stories through Chinese dance elements combined with modern dance arrangements. The program also includes Chinese group drumming, traditional lion and dragon dance with a 60-foot-long dragon rebuilt with the local community.

Smart Card Fund Raiser: If you have played a sport this year, you are aware of our Smart Card Fundraiser. We are asking all athletes to bring in $45. In return, you will be given 3 Smart Cards each worth $15 to sell. The district does not provide us with an athletic budget, so all of the proceeds are going into an athletic fund. This fund is being used for facility rental, equipment, and meet fees. If you are on the Women's Team, please bring $45 to Coach Louis by March 8. If you are on the Men's Team, please bring $45 to Coach Motta by March 8. Our first meet is on March 8th, you must pay by this date to be able to compete on the team. If you have any questions about Smart Cards, please contact Mr. Harned at Kelly.Harned@mnps.org
Parking Lot Fundraiser : We are also going to have a parking lot fund raiser on March 6. I will need about 10 volunteers (athletes) and 2 parent volunteers to help out. Please email me if you are interested. The money we raise for this is going to help us buy hurdles.
