Okay, we're cheating with this one. It's not really a camp, but an on-going opportunity for your child to engage his or her mind all summer long!
Below are three reading lists with hundreds of books suggested for every reading level. Titles within are broken down to appropriate ranges of grade level.
IMPORTANT: These books are not required reading. Individual schools and teachers may have required reading lists. If you have a question about required summer reading matierals, contact your child's school or teacher directly.

RoboCamp 2012 (Camp Full)

Bailey STEM Magnet Middle School
Campers will enjoy learning basic robotic principles involving electrical circuits, batteries, switches, DC motors, and robotic arm and hand actuators. They will build their own challenging six-degree-of-freedom robotic arm, and even learn how to solder! Gain essential computer skills that will last long after the summer ends! This will be a “hands on” class where teens will pop off the cover of a desk top computer and have a look around to learn what the parts of the computer are and how they work. Upon completion of the class, each student will receive a good refurbished computer system with a minimum of Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256 MB RAM, a network card, a keyboard, a mouse, and a monitor given as a FREE gift to all participants that complete the workshop. - LEARN MORE

Nashville State Community College will be hosting three Information Technology (IT) camps this summer for high school students during the weeks of June the 4-8 and June 11-15. These camps will introduce high school students to various fields in the IT industry. The topics will be Robotics, Networking and Alice(a programming language). Our program is designed to meet the educational needs of students by increasing academic achievement and student performance in preparation of returning to school in the fall. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening reading, writing, math and computer skills. Students will be taught the importance of good citizenship and how to develop positive relationships. Also, students will be involved in art, music, dance, and public speaking which will allow them to express their creativity and imagination. Recreational time will include indoor/outdoor activities. Various educational field trips will be taken. Our visits to area universities will expose students to the climate and routine of a higher education facility. Health Awareness will be an important part of the program emphasizing hygiene, grooming, healthy eating, and exercising. Students will have the advantage of certified teachers reviewing Math, Reading, Social Studies and Science during the entire session. Special areas of instruction: (weekly)
- Band – for students who already play an instrument and would like to maintain or improve their skills
- Oratorical Instruction – facilitated by Toastmasters of Tennessee
- Finances/Economics – with the opportunity to set up and work a business within the program
- Discovering Your Talents – cooking, art, dance, etc.
- Physical education – daily with a trainer from the MTSU Athletic Department
There will also be a weekly activity off-campus: Swimming, skating, bowling or an event that may relate to the special areas of instruction. - REGISTER
