Academic Magnet Standards Changing
Higher standards will have an impact on the admission rates for the MNPS academic magnet schools (Meigs, Hume-Fogg & MLK). In keeping with the higher standards, we're re-evaluating admission requirements to maintain the integrity of the academic magnet schools and keep them open to the highest achieving students. Under the soon-to-be released new requirements, fewer students will qualify for admission into the academic magnets. Students who are currently enrolled in one of these schools will continue at their current schools and will not be displaced under the new standards. These new requirements have not yet been finalized, but they will be posted to the Magnet & Specialty Schools page of the website when finished and approved. |
