Trips to Italy (Spring Break 2010) & China (Summer 2010) – Commit by Oct. 15!
Hume-Fogg students may take advantage of two extraordinary trips, directed by Hume-Fogg teachers. Ms. Marty Robinson is leaving these trips. Students wanting to spend Spring Break in Italy need to make a written or verbal commitment to Ms. Robinson by Oct. 15, and pay a deposit by Nov. 30. Students wanting to go to China must make a firm commitment by Oct. 15, due to the complexities of scheduling travel in China. The China trip begins on June 22, and students will travel for 12 days. The trip includes visits to Tien An Men Square, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing, a trip to the Great Wall, a cruise on the Yangtze River that winds through some of China’s most scenic country, and a trip to Shanghai, which includes the Bund, the Pearl Tower, an acrobatic show and the World Expo. Students will stay in 4 and 5 star hotels that offer Western accommodations. Our structured program includes sightseeing trips, excursions, walking tours and many exciting local activities. A full-time, specially selected tour guide will accompany us on all of our educational excursions and assist us in making the most of our free time and shopping opportunities.

Sign up for Gradespeed
Gradespeed, the MNPS on-line grading system, allows parents to access your student’s grades, assignments, and attendance on one page. If you have more than one student at Hume-Fogg or at another MNPS school that uses Gradespeed, you can access up to three children from a single page. To sign up for Gradespeed, go to the Gradespeed login screen at https://gradespeed.mnps.org/pc , and follow the prompts. You will need a valid email address to establish a Gradespeed user name. After you sign up, Gradespeed will send you a verification code via email asking you to verify your account. After you verify your account, you may then add your student(s) to your account. Here is the information you’ll need to add students to your Gradespeed account:

  1. A valid Student ID number. Your student’s ID number is their MNPS issued student ID number. If you get an error message stating that the “student does not exist,” contact the Guidance Office to verify your student’s MNPS issued ID number and address.
  2. Student Address – If the address you have entered does not match the address listed for the student, you will get an error message. Contact the Guidance Office to have the address corrected.
  3. Student Birth date – List the birthday in this format: mm/dd/yyyy

Once you have added your student to your Gradespeed account, you will be able to view your student’s courses, assignments and grades.
