Youth Volunteer Opportunities

Do you feel you have a unique perspective on some of the issues affecting our community?

Do you want to really do something about community issues such as homelessness, global warming, poverty and food insecurity?

Do you have what it takes to make Nashville a stronger community?

(Hands On Nashville)

Youth Volunteer Guide

Enumerates community organizations and the activities that teens can involve themselves with at a specific organization. Available in Guidance or on-line (www.hon.org) for reference.

Helping Hands

Volunteer club at school that sponsors a number of volunteer activities, including regular after-school tutoring at Lockeland Springs Elementary and Homework Hotline.

Hands on Nashville

As your community Volunteer Center, Hands On Nashville serves as a local hub for volunteerism and offers a variety of programs and resources that empower people to make volunteering a regular part of their lives.

Teen Only Project (TOP):

Hands On Nashville understands that volunteering can be intimidating for teens, especially if you think you are going to be the only young person. Therefore, we aim to provide teens with 2-5 Teen Only Projects each month so that you can volunteer with your friends and peers. We are currently looking for 4 teens who would like to become TOP Coordinators for this summer with the possibility of continuing to serve through out the school year. You will be expected to attend a 1 hour training in addition to co-manage a Teen Only Project with the Youth Programs AmeriCorps Member. As a TOP Coordinator you will be expected to lead one project each month (most likely a reoccurring project). The commitment is only once a month and we can make sure the projects fit your schedule. So step it up and be the change!

If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact John Dick by e-mail at john@hon.org or by phone at (615) 298-1108 x 107.
