GOVERNMENT
This course stresses a study of governmental structure on the national, state, and local levels. The role of the political parties, lobbies, and interest groups are analyzed, as is the concept of federal democratic government.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT GOVERNMENT
The course is an in-depth study through seminars and intensive reading of issues designed for selected students who will take the College Board AP test.
WORLD HISTORY
World History is designed as a broad survey course in ancient medieval and modern history with an emphasis on cultural patterns and interrelationships between nations. European, African, and Asian civilizations are included.
UNITED STATES HISTORY
The course is an in-depth survey course for the college bound student, which begins with Discovery and progresses to the present. A study of the Constitution is included.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT UNITED STATES HISTORY
This course is an in-depth study of American History. Intensive reading of course materials is required. The course is designed for selected students who will take the College Board AP test. A minimum of one morning study session in addition to the regular class schedule is required.
ECONOMICS, HONORS
This course is an in-depth study of the fundamentals of the free enterprise system including the production, marketing, distribution, and promotion of goods and services; the role of financial institutions and the role of government in the United States economic system. It also includes studies of investments, banking, credit, comparative economic systems, and other topics necessary to produce an informed consumer.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT ECONOMICS
This course is an in-depth study through seminars and intensive reading of issues designed for selected students who will take the College Board AP test. An emphasis on investments will be included.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT EUROPEAN HISTORY
This course is an intensive study of European history and culture from the Renaissance to the Modern Period. Intensive reading of course materials is required. Students will take the College Board AP test.
