Magnet Cluster Group

The purpose of the Magnet Cluster Parent Group is to bring parent representatives from MNPS' magnet schools together to discuss issues concerning each school, positive happenings, best practices, etc. We also look for common concerns among all the participating schools (e.g., authentic programs, high quality teachers, etc.). Cluster wide issues are addressed (and tackled) at the cluster meetings. Concerns, best practices, etc., are escalated to the district's Parents Advisory Council and shared with the other 12 clusters in MNPS. Each year the Hume-Fogg Association elects two parents to represent Hume-Fogg in this group. The Magnet Cluster Parent Group in turn elects three representatives to represent the magnet schools at the district Parents’ Advisory Council.

The 12 schools in the Magnet Cluster are East Literature, Hume-Fogg, MLK, Nashville School of the Arts, Pearl Cohn High School Business and Communications, Creswell, Head, Meigs, Rose Park, Carter Lawrence, Hull-Jackson, and Jones Paideia.

Additional information about parent cluster groups and the Parents Advisory Council is available on the MNPS web site.
